        "content": "<p>Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo has\nemphasised that the current exchange rate of the rupiah against the US\ndollar, comfortably at levels above Rp17,000 per dollar, is already\nundervalued. Undervalued is a term describing an exchange rate that is\nlower than its fundamental value. \u201cWe emphasise that the rupiah is\ncurrently undervalued compared to its fundamentals,\u201d Perry said during\nthe press conference following the BI Board of Governors meeting on\nWednesday (22\/4\/2026). According to him, the rupiah\u2019s fundamentals are\nactually tending towards strength, in line with the stable economic\nfundamentals. Therefore, he assesses that the rupiah\u2019s exchange rate has\nthe potential to strengthen going forward. \u201cBI believes the rupiah will\nstabilise and strengthen, supported by BI\u2019s commitments, attractive\nyields, and Indonesia\u2019s good economic prospects,\u201d Perry explained.
