        "content": "<p>REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA \u2013 Generally, acts of corruption are related\nto the abuse of power. Public officials who dare to commit such acts are\nbetraying the trust that has been given to them.<\/p>\n<p>The eradication of corruption has been a focus since the time of the\nProphet Muhammad. As explained in a hadith narrated by at-Tirmidhi, the\nProphet sent one of his companions, Mu\u2019adz bin Jabal, to Yemen to teach\nIslam to the local people.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I was about to leave, he sent someone to call me back. So I\nreturned.<\/p>\n<p>He then asked, \u2018Do you know why I sent someone to tell you to come\nback?\u2019 (Mu\u2019adz indicated that he was ready to listen.) Do not take\nanything without my permission, for that is ghulul.<\/p>\n<p>And whoever commits ghulul will bring what he has taken on the Day of\nJudgement. That is why I called you. Now, go and fulfil your duty.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>By \u2018ghulul\u2019 is meant taking any public wealth without permission.<\/p>\n<p>When the Prophet Muhammad was among his people, he was the reference\nfor the law. Therefore, every Muslim who receives a mandate must do so\nwith his permission.<\/p>",
