With Rp1.9 trillion in investments realised by the end of 2025, employing 836 workers and involving 14 businesses, the zone underscores the strategic role of special economic zones in driving investment in emerging sectors like healthcare. Speaking in
Tangerang on Friday, Rizal Edwin Manansang said that the development of
the KEK ETKI in the region, with the health sector included, plays a
strategic role in Indonesia’s economy. This is because nearly two
million Indonesians seek treatment abroad each year. “With the presence
of the Banten International Education, Technology, and Health Special
Economic Zone (KEK ETKI), it is hoped that it can provide
global-standard health facilities and international-quality medical
services equivalent to those abroad,” said Rizal Edwin Manansang after
the Topping Off ceremony for the medical suites at D-Hub SEZ BSD City,
Tangerang, on Friday. Based on data, the KEK ETKI Banten in the BSD City
Tangerang area has recorded an investment realisation of Rp1.9 trillion
by the end of 2025, absorbing 836 workers, and involving 14 business
actors. “This achievement shows that special economic zones are
increasingly playing a role in encouraging investment and the
development of new sectors, including the health sector,” he added. Not
only that, continued Rizal, the KEK ETKI is also expected to attract
patients from abroad, making Indonesia a treatment destination. Thus,
people will not only go to Penang, Singapore, or Malacca to seek quality
hospitals, but Banten can also become a destination for
international-standard health services. Head of the Banten Provincial
Health Office Ati Pramudji Hastuti added that there are currently around
135 hospitals in Banten Province with various classifications, from
international to national standards, as well as types A, B, and C.
Meanwhile, the health sector is one of the main pillars in realising
better quality of life for individuals and the nation. The Banten
Provincial Government through the Health Office is always committed to
realising “Healthy Banten” through various efforts to improve access and
quality of health services for the community. The Medical Suite
building, she continued, is not just a physical structure, but a
facility that brings great hope in improving community health services.
Today’s inauguration is not merely ceremonial, but a symbol of the
commitment of the board of directors and management in delivering
sustainable innovation, particularly in providing modern, integrated,
and high-standard health services. “In recent years, efforts to develop
medical tourism have shown positive results, with foreign patients and
tourists starting to come for treatment,” she said. In addition, the
exclusive and comfortable facilities in this medical suite are expected
to provide a better service experience for patients. Not only from the
medical side, but also from the comfort and satisfaction side during the
treatment process, so as to support optimal healing. “We hope that after
this inauguration, the medical suite facility can operate optimally soon
so that its benefits can be felt by the wider community as soon as
possible. In the end, this will contribute to improving the health
status of the community, especially in Banten Province and Indonesia in
general,” she said.
",
