        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will conduct\nsimultaneous light switch-offs three times: on 25 April 2026 for Earth\nDay, 13 June 2026 for World Environment Day, and 26 September 2026 for\nWorld Ozone Day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe light switch-off activity aims to encourage energy conservation,\nreduce greenhouse gas emissions, and increase public awareness and\nparticipation in efforts to prevent and control environmental\npollution,\u201d said the Head of the DKI Jakarta Environmental Agency, Dudi\nGardesi Sadikin, in a statement in Jakarta on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The activity, taking place from 8:30 to 9:30 PM WIB, is also intended\nas an energy-saving action and carbon emission reduction, as well as the\nimplementation of Governor\u2019s Instruction No.\u00a014 of 2021 on the\nImplementation of Light Switch-Offs.<\/p>\n<p>Dudi stated that the mechanism for implementing the light switch-off\nactivity is carried out participatively by the managers and\/or those\nresponsible for buildings, facilities, and lighting, according to their\nrespective authorities.<\/p>\n<p>The locations for the light switch-offs, in accordance with\nGovernor\u2019s Instruction No.\u00a014 of 2021 of the DKI Jakarta Province,\ninclude all buildings\/offices of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government,\nexcept hospitals, puskesmas, clinics, and others.<\/p>\n<p>Central Jakarta: Jalan Sudirman (from Dukuh Atas to Sampoerna\nStrategic Building) and Jalan MH Thamrin, the area around Jalan Medan\nMerdeka (except Medan Merdeka Utara in front of the Presidential\nPalace), Jalan Gerbang Pemuda-Jalan Asia Afrika, the City Hall\ncourtyard, and the Central Jakarta Mayor\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p>North Jakarta: Jalan Yos Sudarso, the North Jakarta Mayor\u2019s Office\nComplex, and Perintis Kemerdekaan.<\/p>\n<p>East Jakarta: Jalan Dr.\u00a0Sumarno, Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan, and the\nEast Jakarta Mayor\u2019s Office Complex.<\/p>\n<p>West Jakarta: Jalan Daan Mogot and Jalan Kembangan Raya (in front of\nthe West Jakarta Mayor\u2019s Office), and the West Jakarta Mayor\u2019s Office\nComplex.<\/p>\n<p>South Jakarta: Jalan Prapanca Raya, Jalan Gerbang Pemuda-Jalan Asia\nAfrika, Jalan Sudirman (Sampoerna Strategic Building to the Youth\nStatue), and Jalan Rasuna Said.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, several monuments that are symbols of Jakarta City will\nalso be switched off, including the City Hall Building, the National\nMonument along with its fountain, the Arjuna Wiwaha Statue along with\nits fountain, the Hotel Indonesia Roundabout along with its fountain,\nthe Youth Statue along with its fountain, the Heroes\u2019 Statue, and the\nGeneral Sudirman Statue.<\/p>\n<p>Several private buildings, commercial buildings, shopping centres,\nrestaurants, hotels, and apartments will also participate in the light\nswitch-off implementation.<\/p>",
