The Jakarta provincial government, via Dharma Jaya, plans to build a new cattle shed in Ciangir, Tangerang Regency, to house up to 1,000 cattle. The project is framed as a response to land constraints at Dharma Jaya and changes in land use that prevented expanding existing facilities; the effort will repurpose provincial land, including space previously allocated to an agro-tourism project and a correctional facility. The move underscores ongoing public sector challenges in livestock infrastructure and land zoning.

Jakarta – The Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov DKI) through
Dharma Jaya is planning to build a new cattle shed in Ciangir, Tangerang
Regency, Banten. The shed is targeted to accommodate up to 1,000 head of
cattle. Raditya Endra Budiman, Chief Executive of Dharma Jaya, said the
construction is being pursued because of the limited land currently
owned by the company.

‘There is indeed a site in Ciangir. The land there totals about 100
hectares,’ Raditya said in an official statement on Friday, 6 March
2026.

However, the quota allocated by the Ministry of Agriculture is only
7,500 head. ‘From 7,500, given Dharma Jaya’s current condition, we can
only bring in around 3,119 head. Not because we’re afraid of poor
demand, but due to space constraints,’ he added.

Raditya stated that Dharma Jaya actually has land of around 12
hectares in Serang, Banten. However, the land use designation changed,
so it can no longer be used for a cattle yard. ‘The land’s designation
has changed; what was previously permissible for a cattle yard is now
only allowed for agro-tourism. So the existing cattle yard cannot be
expanded or added,’ he said.

As a solution, Dharma Jaya will utilise land owned by the DKI
Provincial Government in Ciangir, Banten. The total area of the site is
about 100 hectares, around 20 hectares of which has already been used
for a correctional facility.

‘The land use has changed; what was previously permissible for a
cattle yard is now only allowed for agro-tourism. So the existing cattle
yard cannot be expanded or added,’ he added.
",
