        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, through the\nDepartment of Child Empowerment, Protection, and Population Control\n(PPAPP), has affirmed its support for women\u2019s dual roles, namely\npursuing careers in the workforce and handling family childcare\nresponsibilities.<\/p>\n<p>The Head of the Women\u2019s Empowerment Division of the DKI Jakarta\nProvincial PPAPP Department, Evi Lisa, stated that this support is\nrealised through the provision of facilities such as lactation rooms and\nchildcare centres (daycare).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe provision of lactation rooms and daycare is one of the\necosystems that allow women to sustain themselves in the workforce,\u201d she\nsaid during a podcast themed \u201cFrom Kartini to Civil Servants: Building a\nSafe, Equal, and Supportive Work Ecosystem\u201d in Jakarta on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Regional regulations (Perda) policies related to flexible working\nhours and women\u2019s involvement in the development process are also part\nof the DKI Provincial Government\u2019s support for career women.<\/p>\n<p>Evi acknowledged that many women face limited choices, either working\nor devoting themselves to domestic affairs, which means having to stop\nworking. This is due to limited childcare support.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWomen should not be forced to choose between career and family. What\nneeds to be done is to provide support and build an ecosystem that\nsupports women,\u201d said Evi.<\/p>\n<p>One ecosystem that can help women\u2019s dual roles is the family. A more\nequal division of roles in the family and support from partners or\nfamily.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the work ecosystem includes gender-responsive policies\nand women-friendly policies such as flexible working hours.<\/p>\n<p>Besides daycare, lactation rooms, and flexible working hours, the DKI\nJakarta Provincial Government also has economic and social economic\nprogrammes for women, strengthening women\u2019s capacity in communities, and\nsupport for vulnerable groups to become more independent.<\/p>",
