        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is\nconstructing five pedestrian crossing points (zebra crossings) on Jalan\nSoepomo in Tebet, South Jakarta, to improve the safety and comfort of\nroad users. \u201cWe hope that the presence of these zebra crossings will\nsupport safer and more orderly mobility for residents, while\nstrengthening a culture of mutual respect on the roads,\u201d stated the Head\nof the DKI Jakarta Road Infrastructure Agency, Heru Suwondo, in Jakarta\non Monday (30\/3). He acknowledged that the lack of crossing facilities\nin the area has caused discomfort for the public. Four of the zebra\ncrossings began construction on Monday (30\/3). According to Heru, this\nsituation arose from periodic road maintenance activities as well as the\nconstruction and improvement of sidewalks at the end of 2025, which\ncovered the previous zebra crossing markings with a new layer of\nasphalt. Additionally, high rainfall has posed challenges to the\nconstruction process. \u201cIt should be noted that reapplying road markings\ncannot be done immediately after asphalt laying.
