The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has confirmed that it will
continue to exempt battery-based electric vehicles from motor vehicle
tax (PKB) and motor vehicle ownership transfer fee (BBNKB). This
decision reflects the local government’s consistency in supporting the
acceleration of the transition to clean energy while aligning
regulations with central government policies. “Following the issuance of
the Minister of Home Affairs’ Circular Letter Number 900.1.13.1/3764/SJ
regarding fiscal incentives in the form of exemptions from PKB and BBNKB
for battery-based electric motor vehicles, the DKI Jakarta Provincial
Government’s policy aligns with these provisions, namely continuing to
provide incentives in the form of PKB and BBNKB exemptions for
battery-based electric vehicles,” explained the Head of the DKI Jakarta
Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda), Lusiana Herawati. Furthermore,
Lusiana stated that the policy is deliberately designed not only to
support the renewable energy ecosystem but also to stimulate public
interest in using more environmentally friendly transportation.
Exemption from odd-even rules In addition, the Head of the DKI Jakarta
Provincial Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, emphasised that the
policy of exemption from traversing odd-even zones for electric vehicles
will also continue to support smooth, environmentally friendly movement.
“We are maintaining the odd-even exemption policy for battery-based
electric vehicles. This policy is part of efforts to encourage the use
of more environmentally friendly vehicles, in line with commitments to
reduce emissions and strengthen sustainable urban transportation
systems,” said Syafrin. Syafrin assessed that the development of
electric vehicles must be positioned as part of an overall urban
mobility strategy. These efforts must continue to receive support
through strengthening public transportation and the implementation of
consistent environmental policies. Through these steps, the DKI Jakarta
Provincial Government continues to commit to supporting the transition
to clean energy through incentives aligned with central policies, while
maintaining the sustainability of environmentally friendly urban
transportation systems.
",
