        "content": "<p>The Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta will coordinate with online\nmotorcycle taxi (ojol) communities and building managers to discuss the\nprovision of parking spaces for ojol drivers in commercial areas, office\ndistricts, and other locations prone to illegal parking.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPerhaps within the next week we will also invite our friends (the\nojol community) to discuss this with operators and building managers,\u201d\nsaid Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Budi Awaluddin,\nwhile leading a briefing at Jakarta City Hall on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>This coordination and synergy will also be directed towards\nstrengthening education on traffic safety and order, including appeals\nagainst illegal parking, riding against the flow of traffic, and\nensuring vehicle documents are complete.<\/p>\n<p>This effort follows up on illegal parking enforcement activities in\nJakarta, while also aiming to build orderly and safe traffic management\non the ground.<\/p>\n<p>However, the enforcement activity was marked by an incident when\ntransportation agency officers took action against a motorcycle owner\nparked on the pavement on Jalan Jatinegara, East Jakarta, on Wednesday\n(17\/6). One of the vehicles turned out to belong to an ojol driver who\narrived after his motorcycle had been loaded onto a transport truck.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn that very day, Mr Sulis or Mr Agung retrieved his motorbike by\nsimply making a written statement promising not to repeat the offence,\nand no fees were charged whatsoever,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>On that occasion, ojol community representative Beno stated his\nreadiness to synergise with the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency to\npromote order on the roads while strengthening education for\ndrivers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGoing forward, we want issues like this to be resolved through\ncommunication and deliberation. We will also continue to remind fellow\ndrivers to respect the rules and maintain order on the roads,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>",
