        "content": "<p>The Jakarta Environmental Agency (DLH) has imposed administrative\nsanctions on six companies providing waste transport services after they\nwere found to be operating in ways that did not match their permits.<\/p>\n<p>With this latest enforcement action, a total of 11 waste transport\nservice providers have now been sanctioned as part of efforts to improve\nthe governance of waste collection and management in Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat we are building is an orderly waste management system, from\nupstream to downstream. Service providers must operate in accordance\nwith their permits, while service users must also ensure their waste is\nhanded over to legal companies and taken to proper management\nfacilities,\u201d said Head of the Jakarta Environmental Agency Dudi Gardesi\nin Jakarta on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>He stressed that oversight is not only directed at disposal sites but\nalso covers the entire waste management chain, from waste producers,\ntransport service providers and the vehicles used, to processing\nfacilities and final disposal sites.<\/p>\n<p>For the violations, the six companies were each given an\nadministrative sanction in the form of a coercive fine of Rp10 million,\nin accordance with Article 131 paragraph (1) of Jakarta Provincial\nRegulation No.\u00a03 of 2013 on Waste Management.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the companies were issued written warnings, in\naccordance with Article 21 paragraph (1) letter a of Jakarta Governor\nRegulation No.\u00a0102 of 2021 on Waste Management Obligations in Areas and\nCompanies.<\/p>\n<p>The six companies are required to submit a written statement pledging\nnot to repeat the violation. Should they be found in breach again, the\nJakarta Environmental Agency may impose further measures up to the\nrevocation of their permits in accordance with applicable\nregulations.<\/p>",
