        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - Commission E of the DKI Jakarta DPRD has requested\nthat the DKI Education Office immediately follow up and impose\nadministrative sanctions if any private school parties burden students\nwith fee collections under the private free school programme.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf from the start there was already an MoU, there was already an\nagreement that free schools must not collect fees,\u201d said Chairman of\nCommission E of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Muhammad Subki, in Jakarta on\nWednesday.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, there are indications of fee collections in the\nimplementation of the Private Free School Programme.<\/p>\n<p>Such fee collections are deemed to violate regulations and add to the\nburden on students\u2019 parents.<\/p>\n<p>Subki stated that private schools have signed a memorandum of\nunderstanding (MoU) regarding the prohibition of additional collections,\nso they must fully commit to providing more optimal educational\nservices.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo there should be no more collections, because this programme is\nactually good,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The budget for the programme, Subki said, is sufficient to meet\nschool needs, for example, funding for teacher training to\nlibraries.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, Subki appreciated the Education Office\u2019s expansion of\nthe Private Free School Programme\u2019s reach in June 2026. The target is to\nincrease from 40 schools to 103 schools.<\/p>\n<p>Subki hopes that budget efficiency policies will not impact the\nPrivate Free School Programme in Jakarta.
