A total of 10 tonnes of plecostomus fish\nhave been eradicated in Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>Compiled by detikcom on Saturday (25\/4\/2026), the Jakarta Food\nSecurity, Maritime Affairs, and Agriculture Office (KPKP) revealed that\na total of 10.189 tonnes of plecostomus fish have been captured. This\namount is an accumulation from the five cities in the Jakarta\nProvince.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUp to now, the total accumulated plecostomus fish successfully\ncaptured from all waterways in DKI Jakarta reaches 10.189 tonnes,\u201d said\nthe Head of the DKI Jakarta KPKP Office, Hasudungan Sidabalok, when\ncontacted on Thursday (23\/4).<\/p>\n<p>This amount results from the simultaneous capture on 17 April.\nAdditionally, the East Jakarta City Government conducted another capture\non 20 April, and the South Jakarta City Government on 21 April.<\/p>\n<p>Hasudungan stated that the KPKP Office has prepared a safe standard\noperating procedure for handling plecostomus fish to avoid environmental\ncontamination. The captured results, he said, will be ensured dead\nbefore being buried.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor destruction, the plecostomus fish must be ensured dead by\nsplitting or breaking their spines, then placed into tightly sealed\nsacks to be transported and buried at the designated location,\u201d he\nexplained.<\/p>\n<p>Five Men Secured for Taking Plecostomus Fish Meat<\/p>\n<p>Five men were secured while taking plecostomus fish meat from the\ncaptures along the banks of the Ciliwung River child canal in the Pasar\nBaru area, Central Jakarta. They intended to process the plecostomus\nfish meat into siomay.<\/p>\n<p>The Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) prevented the processing of\nthe plecostomus fish meat by destroying it. The Satpol PP also warned\nthe five men not to sell plecostomus fish meat again due to the\npotential content of harmful substances dangerous to human health who\nconsume it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll of it we destroyed by burying.
