The number of annual income tax return (SPT) filings continues to\nrise as the deadline approaches. As of Sunday (29 March 2026) at 24:00\nWIB, the Directorate General of Taxation (DJP) recorded 9,751,452 SPTs\nsubmitted by taxpayers.<\/p>\n
The majority of filings came from individual employee taxpayers,\nreaching 8,562,326 SPTs. This was followed by 988,464 SPTs from\nnon-employee individual taxpayers, and corporate taxpayers consisting of\n198,788 rupiah-based corporate SPTs and 140 US dollar-based corporate\nSPTs.<\/p>\n
Additionally, there were filings from corporate taxpayers with\ndifferent fiscal years, namely 1,713 rupiah-based corporate SPTs and 21\nUS dollar-based corporate SPTs.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, activations of Coretax system accounts are also\nsteadily increasing. Over the same period, 17,189,768 taxpayers have\nactivated their accounts, dominated by 16,135,564 individual taxpayers.\nThe remainder consists of 963,517 corporate taxpayers, 90,460 government\nagencies, and 227 digital economy taxpayers (PMSE).<\/p>\n
DJP\u2019s Director of Education, Services, and Public Relations, Inge\nDiana Rismawanti, previously stated that the number of filers would\ncontinue to grow as millions of taxpayers have yet to fulfil their\nobligations.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs of yesterday, it was nearly 9.1 million. We\u2019re still waiting for\nabout 5 million more,\u201d said Inge in a statement on Monday (30 March\n2026).<\/p>\n
The government has provided an extension for filing until 30 April\n2026 without fines or interest penalties. This policy was implemented to\ngive taxpayers time to adjust to the Coretax system.<\/p>\n
The Director General of Taxation, Bimo Wijayanto, acknowledged that\nthe new system has made the reporting process more complex because\ntaxpayer data is now integrated and must be verified against various\nother databases.<\/p>\n
\u201cNow, every piece of data must be reconfirmed with comparative\ndatabases. So it\u2019s indeed more detailed and complex,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
In the field, several taxpayers are still facing technical issues,\nsuch as slow system performance. DJP views this as part of the\nadjustment process.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a new system, like a newborn baby. There\u2019s a learning curve\nfor both users and us,\u201d said Bimo.<\/p>\n
Although the filing trend is increasing, DJP continues to urge the\npublic to report their SPTs before the deadline expires.
