The Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI) of the\nMinistry of Law has recommended the blocking of 116 website links\nsuspected of copyright infringement based on a report from the Motion\nPicture Association (MPA). The recommendation resulted from a\nverification meeting conducted by the Directorate of Law Enforcement,\nthe Directorate of Copyright and Industrial Design of DJKI, together\nwith the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi) and MPA\nrepresentatives on Friday, 26 June 2026.<\/p>\n
Head of the DJKI Sub-Directorate of Enforcement and Investigation,\nAhmad Rifadi, explained that the recommendation was produced after the\nteam conducted a thorough examination of 124 reported links. Of that\nnumber, 116 sites were deemed still active and proven to contain\naudiovisual content without permission, while eight sites were not\nrecommended for blocking as they were already inaccessible.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Verification Team examined each link one by one to ascertain the\nactive status of the site, check whether the site had been entered into\nthe Trust Positif database, and identify the presence of audiovisual\ncontent uploaded without permission as the basis for the blocking\nrecommendation,\u201d said Rifadi on Sunday (28\/6).<\/p>\n
Rifadi added that the verification process was carried out carefully\nto ensure that every recommendation submitted to Komdigi was based on\naccountable evidence. This step is also part of accurate law enforcement\nefforts in accordance with statutory provisions.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, the team also discovered a number of sites that\nwere already listed in the Trust Positif database but could still be\naccessed through some internet service providers (ISPs). Komdigi\nrepresentatives explained that this condition occurs because the Trust\nPositif data synchronisation process at each ISP takes place at\ndifferent speeds.<\/p>\n
In addition to containing films and series without permission, a\nnumber of the verified sites were also found to display gambling-laden\nadvertisements. Komdigi stated that complainants could submit a separate\nreport regarding gambling or pornographic content so that the access\nclosure process could be carried out more quickly through the applicable\nmechanism.<\/p>\n
Director of Law Enforcement at DJKI, Arie Ardian Rishadi, affirmed\nthat the verification results serve as the basis for DJKI to provide an\nofficial recommendation to Komdigi. Inter-agency synergy is considered\nimportant to accelerate the handling of copyright infringement in the\ndigital space.<\/p>\n
