        "content": "<p>The Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI) under the\nMinistry of Law is adjusting non-tax state revenue (PNBP) tariffs for\ntrademark registration services for general applicants. This marks the\nfirst adjustment since the fees were set in 2016, as part of efforts to\nimprove the quality of intellectual property (KI) services. Through a\npolicy regulated in Government Regulation Number 30 of 2026 concerning\nTypes and Tariffs of Non-Tax State Revenue Applicable at the Ministry of\nLaw, the application fee for trademark registration for general\napplicants is adjusted from Rp 1.8 million to Rp 2.8 million per class\nof goods and\/or services. Meanwhile, the government is maintaining a\nspecial tariff for Micro and Small Enterprises (UMK) at Rp 500,000 per\nclass without any increase. In addition to cost relief, the requirements\nfor UMK registration have also been simplified. UMK operators can now\nattach one of the following: a UMK Recommendation Letter, a Risk-Based\nBusiness Identification Number (NIB), a certificate of Individual\nCompany, or a deed of establishment for a Village or Merah Putih\nCooperative as regulated in the Minister of Law Regulation Number 5 of\n2026. Director General of Intellectual Property Hermansyah Siregar\nstated that the tariff adjustment was made after nearly a decade without\nchanges. He said the adjustment is necessary because the needs for\norganising intellectual property services continue to evolve along with\ntechnological advances, the increasing number of applications, and the\ndemand for faster and higher-quality services. \u2018This policy, which takes\neffect on 1 August 2026, is the government\u2019s effort to ensure that\ntrademark registration services are of higher quality, adaptive to\ntechnological developments, and able to provide better legal certainty\nfor the public. At the same time, we maintain our support for micro and\nsmall enterprises by keeping their special tariff without any increase,\u2019\nHermansyah said on Thursday, 16 July 2026. DJKI continues to carry out a\nseries of service improvements, including strengthening the electronic\napplication system, enhancing data security, developing digital-based\nservices, and refining and accelerating the trademark examination\nprocess. DJKI encourages the public to continue protecting trademarks as\na business identity and asset with economic value. Trademark protection\nnot only provides legal certainty for owners but also increases consumer\ntrust and strengthens the competitiveness of Indonesian products in both\nnational and international markets.<\/p>",
