        "content": "<p>JAKARTA \u2013 Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung is preparing several steps\nto reduce public dependence on fuel oil (BBM), particularly amid the\nrise in non-subsidised BBM prices that impact residents\u2019 daily\nexpenses.<\/p>\n<p>One of the main efforts being prepared is to encourage the public to\nswitch to public transportation.<\/p>\n<p>Pramono stated that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov)\ncontinues to improve the quality of public transport services to make\nthem more comfortable, safe, and affordable.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe DKI Jakarta Government will make breakthroughs so that the\nnumber of people using non-subsidised BBM decreases by encouraging them\nto use public transportation,\u201d said Pramono when met in the Kebayoran\narea, Central Jakarta, on Sunday (19\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is also expanding intermodal\ntransport integration, from Transjakarta, MRT Jakarta, to LRT\nJakarta.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Transjakarta services are being extended to buffer areas\nsuch as Depok, Bogor, Bekasi, and Banten regions so that mobility to and\nfrom Jakarta can be done without private vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the construction of MRT Jakarta is targeted to reach the\nKota Tua area and be completed in 2029. Pramono is optimistic that the\nintegration of various transport modes will revive that historic\narea.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause once that\u2019s done, the KRL will run, the MRT will run,\nTransJabodetabek or TransJakarta to Kota Tua will run, I\u2019m sure Kota Tua\nwill become a new place that residents will visit,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>As of the end of December 2025, the construction progress has reached\n89.22 percent. Once operational, the LRT is projected to carry up to\n80,000 passengers per day.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is also\nbeginning to develop the use of alternative energy to reduce dependence\non BBM, one of which is through the installation of solar panels.<\/p>\n<p>Pramono mentioned that this step is important, especially amid global\ngeopolitical tensions that can affect energy supplies, including\nBBM.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRegarding efficiency and alternative energy.
