Distribution scam<\/p>\n
Somebody introducing himself as Syamsul Azwar, H. Abdurrahman
\nDaud, H. Sontri or some other name, saying he is from the
\nMinistry of Cooperatives and Small Enterprises, the State
\nLogistics Agency (Bulog) or the Indonesian Distribution
\nCooperative (KDI), has telephoned a number of BMT Cooperatives at
\nvarious places in Indonesia and also the center for micro
\nenterprise advancement (PINBUK) in the provinces to offer them
\ndozens of tons of essential commodities at competitive prices.<\/p>\n
We think a scam is indicated in his activities. The hoax is to
\ntell the prospective victim that he has obtained the approval of
\nthe KDI or Bulog as a distributor of essential commodities in the
\nregion. In fact neither the KDI or Bulog has such a mechanism.
\nThe caller then asks for an amount of money for the sending of
\nthe commodities to be transferred to either of the following
\naccounts:<\/p>\n

\nor Abdurrahman Daud, account number 08809017857.9 at Bank
\nDanamon.<\/p>\n
The person passing himself off as Syamsul Azwar can be reached
\nat telephone number 5251349 or mobile phone number 0818371281.<\/p>\n
We would like to have the attention of all PINBUK offices in
\nthe provinces and regencies, BMT sponsored by PINBUK and the
\ngeneral public for the following:<\/p>\n
1. To treat such offers with caution.<\/p>\n
2. Our checking has borne out that the person is neither a KDI
\nor Bulog staffer.<\/p>\n
3. All the PINBUK offices in the provinces and regencies and
\nthe BMT sponsored by PINBUK should not respond to the person's
\noffers.<\/p>\n
4. Many BMTs have been duped. Among them, the BMT in Brebes
\nlost Rp 5 million, the one in Yogyakarta relinquished Rp 2
\nmillion.<\/p>\n
We request the authorities investigate the scam, starting from
\nthe account numbers and the telephone numbers under the names
\nmentioned above.<\/p>\n
