        "content": "<p>Dismissed workers seek redress<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Seventeen former employees of state-run tin<br>\nmining company PT Tambang Timah took their dispute with the<br>\ncompany to the National Commission on Human Rights.<\/p>\n<p>The group, which was met by commission members Clementino dos<br>\nReis Amaral and Nohamad Salim, claimed Monday PT Tambang Timah<br>\nhad failed to pay allowances they were entitled to upon their<br>\ndismissal several years ago.<\/p>\n<p>They alleged the company had failed to pay health allowances<br>\nfor their families and was tardy in dispensing pension funds,<br>\namong other grievances.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;There were violations of human rights in the mass dismissal<br>\nof PT Tambang Timah employees several years ago,&quot; they said in a<br>\npetition submitted to the commission.<\/p>\n<p>The case has been brought to court, and Amral suggested the<br>\ngroup should wait for the court ruling.<\/p>\n<p>He promised to look into their complaints, Antara reported.<br>\n(pan)<\/p>",
