        "content": "<p>Jakarta \u2014 The General Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board\n(PBNU), KH Yahya Cholil Staquf (Gus Yahya), responded cautiously to the\ndiscourse on implementing a \u2018warticket\u2019 system for Hajj departures. He\nassessed that the idea is not yet clear, thus not yet worthy of broad\ndebate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlease study it, we are not yet clear. Let\u2019s see first what the\nsystem is like. We don\u2019t know yet,\u201d said Gus Yahya at the PBNU office in\nJakarta on Friday (10\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>He emphasised that to date, there has been no official explanation\nfrom the Indonesian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah regarding the concept or\nmechanism of the proposed system. Therefore, according to Gus Yahya, the\npublic should not rush to conclusions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is no official statement yet. What the system is like, how it\nis offered, that is not yet clear,\u201d said Gus Yahya.<\/p>\n<p>Gus Yahya also revealed that PBNU has not been involved in the\ninitial discussions regarding the discourse. According to him, a public\npolicy idea should go through a thorough study process involving various\nparties. \u201cNot yet. There is none. If someone comes up with an idea on\ntheir own, that\u2019s fine, but we\u2019ll see if they invite (us to study) or\nnot,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding the discourse on eliminating Hajj waiting times, which is\noften linked to the \u2018warticket\u2019 system, Gus Yahya assessed that it\nrequires serious calculations to still ensure justice for pilgrims.\n\u201cFirst, how is the method, what is the system like to make it fair. What\nabout those who are already waiting? That must be considered,\u201d he\nexplained.<\/p>\n<p>He also refrained from speculating on the possibility of implementing\nthe system without adequate studies and data. \u201cShould I speak without a\nstudy? Without data? That\u2019s not possible. I have to see first if this is\na serious idea or not,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>According to Gus Yahya, if the discourse is already clear and\nofficially discussed, PBNU is ready to form a team to conduct studies\nand provide recommendations. \u201cIf this is really serious, then later we\nwill form a team for study, input recommendations, and so on,\u201d said Gus\nYahya.<\/p>",
