        "content": "<p>Disarm GAM<\/p>\n<p>From Rakyat Merdeka<\/p>\n<p>It is correct for many circles, including the political elite,<br>\nreligious leaders and social figures to perceive or even propose<br>\nthat the Acehnese separatists who joined the Free Aceh Movement<br>\n(GAM) must be disarmed. If the Aceh issue is not dealt with<br>\nquickly, more and more people will become victims.<\/p>\n<p>In this context, I would like to call on the government to be<br>\nhighly sensitive to the people's aspirations and to order<br>\nimmediately the military and the police to disarm GAM members.<\/p>\n<p>The use of firearms must be in compliance with the existing<br>\nregulations and laws, i.e. special permits should be possessed by<br>\nthe users. Besides, their Indonesian military uniforms must also<br>\nbe removed so that they cannot misuse them as camouflage from the<br>\nmilitary proper.<\/p>\n<p>Remember, with AK-47 automatic rifles and hand grenades, GAM<br>\nopenly attacked mobile brigade members who were riding on a<br>\ntruck, killing some of them.
