Disappointing dinner<\/p>\n
On Sunday evening (March 31, 1996) my whole family dined at
\nPizza Ria, at the Jakarta Hilton International in honor of a
\nlittle celebration. Pizza Ria has been one of our favorite
\nrestaurants in Jakarta, as the service is usually good and so is
\nthe band. But, last Sunday's dinner was something different. They
\ntreated us like we ate there for free.<\/p>\n
They did not have a drink's list when we asked (we waved our
\nhands, waited for 10 minutes), placed the Pizza plates
\nimpropriately on the table and just left, did not provide any
\nindividual plates on the table (we waved our hands to get some
\nplates), no one came to our table (we were beginning to get very
\ntired of waving our hands. By this stage we had waited for more
\nthan 20 minutes) when we wanted to order some dessert and ended
\nup by going straight to the cashier to settle our bill (otherwise
\nwe would have waited for another 30 minutes for a waiter come to
\nour table).<\/p>\n
It seemed there was discrimination in the service provided.
\nThings were very different if westerners waved their hands.
\nWaiters went straight to the table. I hope by bringing up this
\nissue, the service will be improve as I never expected a Five-
\nStar Diamond Hotel to provide this kind of service.<\/p>\n
