Dili police seize fire bombs<\/p>\n
DILI, East Timor: Police seized more than 50 fire bombs and a
\nlong-barrel rifle from a house in Keluhun village near here over
\nthe weekend.<\/p>\n
The police are still tracking the suspected makers and owners
\nof the bombs and the rifle, said the chief of the Udayana
\nregional military command, Maj. Gen. Abdul Rifai who oversees
\nsecurity in Bali, Nusa Tenggara and East Timor.<\/p>\n
He said he had information that the suspects planned to use
\nthe weapons in Dili on May 25.<\/p>\n
\"We have the names of the makers and owners of the bombs as
\nwell as those who have designed rioting in Dili,\" Rivai was
\nquoted as saying by Antara .<\/p>\n
He said the suspects were people opposed to the 1976
\nintegration of East Timor into Indonesia. \"We will take harsh
\naction against anyone that means to trigger chaos.\"<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, East Timor military chief Col. Mahidin Simbolon
\nsaid that security authorities also confiscated flags and T-
\nshirts made by pro-independence activists with the inscription
\n\"Free Xanana\".<\/p>\n
Xanana Gusmao is a rebel leader now serving a 20-year jail
\nterm in a Jakarta prison. (pan)<\/p>",
