PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BTN) is aggressively\nundertaking major transformation to become a bank with comprehensive\nfinancial services (full banking services). This strategic move is being\ntaken to expand the company\u2019s business reach beyond its primary focus on\nHome Ownership Credit (KPR), encompassing payroll services, credit\ncards, investment products, and vehicle financing.<\/p>\n
BTN\u2019s Director of Operations, I Nyoman Sugiri, affirmed that this\nchange represents the company\u2019s effort to control the entire financial\necosystem of Indonesian families in the digital era.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will change the perception that BTN bank can only provide full\nbanking services. That means, if a family\u2019s finances involve financing,\ninvestment, transactions, and all other banking needs. Especially in\nthis current digital era,\u201d Nyoman said, citing Antara news agency on\nSaturday (14 March).<\/p>\n
He noted that the business transformation, part of BTN\u2019s vision for\n2025-2029, also touches on sustainable funding aspects. Nyoman explained\nthat strengthening funding represents the primary fuel for banking to\ncarry out intermediation functions stably.<\/p>\n
\u201cTherefore, strengthening funding has become one of the main focuses\nthat we continuously improve. This effort is undertaken to ensure the\navailability of stable and sustainable funding sources. So that BTN can\ncontinue to carry out intermediation functions and expand the\ndistribution of financing,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
In terms of operations, Nyoman continued, BTN is implementing a loan\nfactory system to centralise the submission and processing of consumer\ncredit at the central level. This step is taken to overcome obstacles in\ninconsistent inter-regional process standards and increase productivity\nthat has previously been uneven across six regional offices.<\/p>\n
Additionally, BTN is modernising its branch network through a\nrejuvenating branch programme to change public perception of the\ncompany\u2019s services.<\/p>\n
Nyoman emphasised that BTN wants to appear more dynamic by being\npresent in busy commercial areas through developing BTN Digital\nStores.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe want to change the old impression that bank branch offices are\nantiquated and bureaucratic. In the future, BTN branches will adapt to\nmodern times with more contemporary and dynamic concepts,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He also added regarding the company\u2019s physical expansion strategy,\n\u201cWe are present in commercial areas, in shopping malls and busy centres.\nThe concept is an outlet that can serve anytime through digital\nstores.\u201d<\/p>\n
As the conclusion of the operational transformation series, BTN is\nbuilding a modern Records Centre to guarantee the security of its very\nlarge mortgage collateral document portfolio.<\/p>\n
