Jakarta (ANTARA) - The transformation of early childhood learning\nthrough the use of Interactive Flat Panels (IFP), or Digital Interactive\nPanels (PID), has made students in Keerom Regency, Papua, through to\nTeluk Bintuni Regency, West Papua, more enthusiastic about learning.<\/p>\n
The headteacher of TK Pembangunan Yapis in Keerom Regency, Papua,\nWinarsih, said the arrival of the digital panels represented a major\nleap forward for Early Childhood Education (PAUD) in the border\nregion.<\/p>\n
\u201cLearning is no longer one-directional; it now gives pupils the space\nto actively try, choose, and experiment with material displayed on the\ninteractive screen,\u201d she said in an official statement in Jakarta on\nTuesday.<\/p>\n
The classrooms at TK Pembangunan Yapis have now been transformed into\ndigital exploration spaces. Large touchscreens allow children to learn\nabout shapes, colours, and educational objects directly through touch,\nrather than merely listening to a teacher\u2019s explanation. Students\u2019\nenthusiasm is evident each time a digital-based lesson begins.<\/p>\n
A variety of digital learning content has become a favourite among\nthe children. They draw, colour, and independently identify various\nobjects. For a school long associated with limited facilities, the\narrival of the panels has opened a window to a new world for early\nchildhood pupils.<\/p>\n
When an image of a bird of paradise appeared on screen, the classroom\nwas instantly filled with laughter, wonder, and curiosity.<\/p>\n
For children in Disadvantaged, Frontier, and Outermost (3T) regions,\nthe digital panels are more than just electronic devices. Their presence\nsymbolises that their schools are receiving attention and opportunities\nequal to those in major cities.<\/p>\n
Pupils\u2019 self-confidence has grown alongside the conviction that they\ntoo deserve technology-based learning.<\/p>\n
According to a report from the Directorate General of Early\nChildhood, Primary, and Secondary Education (Ditjen PAUD Dasmen) at the\nMinistry of Primary and Secondary Education, the delivery of digital\ninteractive panels for early childhood education has reached 64,190\nunits, or 100 per cent of the allocation. Some 349 early childhood\neducation centres in disaster-affected areas also received the\npanels.<\/p>\n
Director General of PAUD Dasmen, Gogot Suharwoto, said that going\nforward, efforts to strengthen electricity supply, connectivity, and\nteacher mentoring would continue to be expanded so that the benefits of\nthe panels become more sustainable and reach more early childhood\neducation centres.<\/p>\n
