        "content": "<p>The Minister of Manpower, Yassierli, has stated that the\nInternational Labour Organization (ILO) convention regarding decent work\nin the digital era will serve as a reference for strengthening labour\nregulations in Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement in Jakarta on Sunday, the Minister noted that this\nregulatory benchmark is specifically intended to improve protections for\ndigital platform workers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDigital transformation must not diminish the principles of decent\nwork that form the foundation of global employment. The Indonesian\ngovernment welcomes the birth of this convention to realise decent work\nwithin the digital ecosystem,\u201d said Yassierli.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the convention will be an important reference in\nstrengthening national regulations so that protections for online\nmotorcycle taxi drivers, couriers, and other digital platform workers\ncan be increased without hindering innovation, investment, or digital\neconomic growth.<\/p>\n<p>He emphasised that worker protection, the improvement of welfare, and\njob creation must proceed hand in hand.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVarious strategic policies are continuously directed towards\nincreasing competence, expanding access to decent work, strengthening\nsocial security, and creating harmonious industrial relations,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, Minister Yassierli conveyed that the government,\nalongside the House of Representatives (DPR RI), is currently finalising\nvarious strategic labour regulations. This includes targeting the\nratification of the Labour Law revision by October 2026, in accordance\nwith the mandate of the Constitutional Court Decision Number\n168\/PUU-XXI\/2023.<\/p>\n<p>He also invited labour unions to contribute through concrete feedback\nto ensure that the formulated regulations are capable of protecting\nworkers while maintaining the sustainability of the business world.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDo not forget to contribute regarding the Labour Law. We are\nawaiting concrete inputs and steps (that unions require) so that we may\nbuild this nation together,\u201d the Minister added.<\/p>",
