Despite rising diesel fuel prices exceeding Rp20,000 per litre at Pertamina stations and over Rp30,000 at private outlets, PT RMA Indonesia, the distributor for Ford in Indonesia, continues to prioritise sales of its diesel-powered vehicles, the Ford Ranger and Ford Everest. These models remain popular in industrial sectors such as mining and plantations, where double-cabin pickups are essential for field operations. The company is monitoring global trends in vehicle electrification and infrastructure developments in Indonesia but has no immediate plans to shift focus.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT RMA Indonesia, which handles the American
automotive brand Ford, remains consistent in offering diesel-engined
vehicles such as the Ford Everest and Ford Ranger. Country Manager of
RMA Group Indonesia, Toto Suharto, stated that the company is still
focusing on these two vehicles despite Pertamina petrol station diesel
fuel prices reaching over Rp20,000 per litre and exceeding Rp30,000 per
litre at private stations. “For now, we are indeed focusing on the Ford
Everest and Ford Ranger. We also have the Mustang product, which we have
started marketing in Indonesia,” said Toto Suharto in Jakarta on
Tuesday. The increase in diesel fuel prices is not seen as immediately
reducing consumer interest in vehicles like the Ranger, as double-cabin
vehicles are still very much needed in industrial sectors such as
mining, plantations, and field operations. Nevertheless, the company
does not rule out the possibility of offering vehicles that are
currently trending in the global automotive market, namely
electrification. “We continue to study developments in the market, of
course. And we see that in Indonesia, with the development of
infrastructure networks for electric vehicles,” he said. In Indonesia,
the two vehicles that remain the backbone of Ford’s sales feature a
choice of 2.0L EcoBlue diesel engines (Single/Bi-Turbo), producing power
of 170-210 PS and torque of 405-500 Nm. These vehicles come with a
10-speed automatic or 6-speed manual transmission, as well as 4x4 drive.
The Ford Ranger is available in variants including XL, XLT, Wildtrak,
and Raptor. Meanwhile, the Ford Everest is equipped with a 2.0L diesel
engine (Single/Bi-Turbo) that produces 170-210 PS of power and 405-500
Nm of torque, similar to that of the Ranger.
",
