        "content": "<p>Diarrhea outbreak in West Java<\/p>\n<p>INDRAMAYU, West Java: A child died and 57 other people were<br>\nhospitalized here last week as diarrhea hit the area.<\/p>\n<p>The affected people, who included infants, came to a public<br>\nhospital for treatment. \"Some of those who came on Friday were<br>\nalready in a critical condition,\" the Antara news agency quoted<br>\nDr. Eddy, the hospital director, as saying.<\/p>\n<p>He said that, although one of the infants was dead, the<br>\nsituation was under control.<\/p>\n<p>A week earlier at least 70 people suffering from same disease<br>\nwere treated at the same hospital. One of them later died while<br>\nreceiving treatment, Antara reported.<\/p>\n<p>The situation worsened when the hospital began to run out of<br>\nthe fluid used to rehydrate the diarrhea patients.<\/p>\n<p>The father of one child told Antara over the weekend: \"I had<br>\nto buy 10 bottles of the medicinal liquid at a local drugstore<br>\nfor Rp 25,000 ($11).\"<\/p>",
