PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk (DSSA) is accelerating its transformation into a digital infrastructure and AI company, aiming for its non-coal business to match coal revenue by 2029. The Sinar Mas Group subsidiary has invested nearly a decade and US$2.8 billion into building an integrated AI ecosystem, including data centres and telecommunications. While coal remains a foundation, the company expects its EBITDA composition to shift significantly, with a new AI-ready data centre in Jakarta already fully contracted ahead of its 2026 launch.

PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk (DSSA) has affirmed its business
transformation towards becoming a digital infrastructure and artificial
intelligence (AI) company, targeting non-coal revenue to match its coal
business by 2029.

The move marks a new milestone for the Sinar Mas Group subsidiary,
which for years has been known as an energy and coal mining-based
company.

Management stressed that the diversification strategy does not mean
reducing the coal business, but rather accelerating growth in digital,
telecommunications, data centre, and renewable energy (EBT)
businesses.

DSSA Director of Investment and Investor Relations Daniel Cahya said
coal remains the company’s primary foundation. However, the significant
investments made in recent years have begun to alter the company’s
business composition.

Currently, according to Daniel, around 90% of DSSA’s EBITDA still
comes from the coal business through PT Golden Energy Mines Tbk (GEMS).
However, following various corporate actions in 2025 and 2026, the
EBITDA contribution from non-coal businesses is expected to increase
significantly.

“This year we estimate the EBITDA composition will be around 60% from
coal and 40% from non-coal businesses. Going forward, the target is not
only EBITDA, but revenue that can reach 50:50,” he said.

The transformation is underpinned by substantial investments the
company has made over nearly a decade. Daniel revealed that DSSA has
poured in approximately US$2.8 billion, or around Rp 50 trillion, to
build a digital infrastructure ecosystem.

According to him, the investment was not made because of the growing
AI trend, but rather is a long-term strategy that has been built over
many years.

“We did not suddenly jump on the AI trend. We have been making this
investment for almost 10 years. Today people are only just seeing the
entire ecosystem begin to connect,” he said.

Daniel explained that DSSA is now building an integrated AI
ecosystem, from energy supply, telecommunications networks, submarine
cables, satellites, fibre optics, to data centres.

The company also holds a number of digital assets through MyRepublic,
Moratelindo, SM+, PT ASIX Indonesia Cerdas (ASIX), Dana, Video, as well
as a stake in XLSMART.

“We want to become the most complete AI infrastructure company in
Indonesia. So not creating large language models like global technology
companies, but providing all the infrastructure that AI needs,” said
Daniel.

One of the main projects is the construction of an AI-ready data
centre in the Kuningan area of Jakarta, with a capacity of 40 megawatts
that has fully secured customer commitments (fully contracted).

The capacity consists of a 10 MW edge data centre, a 10 MW Tier III
data centre, and a 20 MW Tier IV AI-ready data centre scheduled to begin
operations in October 2026.

“We are very pleased because our data centre is already fully
off-take before it operates,” he said.
",
