DialMart starts operating today<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): New household shopping service company PT
\nDialMart Indotama is scheduled to start operations Tuesday to
\nserve customers in Jakarta, Tangerang and Bekasi.<\/p>\n
Company president Lenny Marlina said on Monday at a ceremony
\ninaugurating the service at the Regent Hotel that DialMart had
\nreceived support from the banking industry and major firms in
\nIndonesia.<\/p>\n
Lenny said three banks -- state Bank Rakyat Indonesia and
\nprivate Bank Internasional Indonesia and Bank Lippo -- had agreed
\nto provide a secured payment system to DialMart's customers.<\/p>\n
\"Our customers could choose the banks to assist in paying
\ntheir shopping bills,\" she said. She added the company had
\nregistered 500 initial customers.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Sahat P. Siagian, the company's operational
\ndirector, said firms including PT Wicaksana Overseas and PT
\nIndomarco had committed to deliver DialMart's orders on time.<\/p>\n
At Monday's inauguration ceremony, membership cards were
\npresented to 14 public figures, including lawyer Tumbu Saraswati,
\nTV presenter Dana Iswara, actress Nia Zulkarnaen and
\nbusinesswoman Martha Tilaar, the firm said in a statement. (jun)<\/p>",
