        "content": "<p>DHL&apos;s Asian revenues rise<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): International courier company DHL Worldwide<br>\nExpress announced on Monday that in spite of the economic crisis<br>\nin Asia, the company recorded an increase of 15 percent in<br>\nrevenues from deliveries of samples, prototypes, spare parts and<br>\nfinished goods from Asia to the United States last year.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;A sustained export performance from Asian countries has<br>\ncontributed to our strong result. Nineteen ninety-nine will still<br>\nbe another tough year, yet DHL remains committed as ever to<br>\nfacilitating export trade for our customers, both within Asia and<br>\nfrom Asia to its major export markets,&quot; said Charles Longley,<br>\nDHL&apos;s chief executive officer for DHL Asia Pacific\/Middle East.<\/p>\n<p>The company announced it had been named Best Express Service<br>\nfor the 13th consecutive year at the 1999 Asian Freight Industry<br>\nAwards (AFIA), in recognition of DHL&apos;s commitment to its<br>\ncustomers and to service innovations. The award was presented at<br>\nthe ceremony in Hong Kong on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>AFIA is organized by Cargonews Asia magazine. The awards are<br>\ngiven in recognition of excellence in overall performance in 37<br>\ncategories by industry peers and customers, through individual<br>\nballots that are sent to Cargonews readers.
