DHL Group is strengthening the work readiness of young Indonesians
through its GoTeach and UPGRADE programmes, providing mentoring, skills
development, and career insights to address the changing demands of the
labour market.

“DHL Group is committed to supporting the improvement of work
readiness among young Indonesians through the GoTeach programme and the
UPGRADE initiative,” said Ahmad Mohamad, Senior Technical Advisor at DHL
Express Indonesia, in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.

At the Youth Speak Forum in Jakarta, young participants from SOS
Children’s Villages Jakarta and Lembang interacted directly with
professionals from various industries, broadening their understanding of
future careers and gaining insight into the skills required in today’s
workplace.

“These participants are also beneficiaries of DHL’s GoTeach
programme,” he said.

According to him, as technology, automation, and digital
transformation continue to advance, the skills required in the workplace
are also changing rapidly. Globally, employers estimate that 39 percent
of the core skills needed by the workforce will change by 2030.

On the other hand, the skills gap remains one of the main obstacles
to business transformation. This situation underscores the importance of
equipping young people with relevant skills, practical experience, and
an understanding of the working world from an early stage.

He said GoTeach, one of DHL Group’s flagship social responsibility
programmes, was created to address these challenges by helping young
people improve their work readiness through mentoring, career guidance,
skills development, and direct exposure to the work environment.

The programme has been running globally since 2010 and has been
present in Indonesia since 2014 through a partnership with SOS
Children’s Villages Indonesia.

Since its launch in Indonesia, GoTeach has reached more than 2,000
young people through at least 55 activities focused on developing work
skills and career readiness.

“This programme aims to help young people prepare for the transition
from education to the world of work,” he said.

In 2025, more than 230 young Indonesians aged 15 to 24 across nine
locations, including Jakarta and Lembang, participated in various
GoTeach activities. This achievement also represents the widest
geographical reach since the programme was introduced in Indonesia.

In addition, more than 40 volunteers from DHL Express, DHL Global
Forwarding, and DHL Supply Chain have contributed more than 2,000
volunteer hours through mentoring, training, facilitation, and career
readiness development activities.

“Through GoTeach, we work together with SOS Children’s Villages to
provide practical learning experiences, mentoring, and insights into the
world of work that help them build confidence and prepare for their next
steps,” he said.

Dean Ivancevic, UPGRADE Programme Manager at DHL Group, added that
the forum brought together participants from Jakarta and Lembang as one
way to open opportunities for young people to learn, build connections,
and broaden their horizons.

During the forum, participants were also introduced to other DHL
Group talent development initiatives, including UPGRADE, the company’s
international talent programme that connects high-potential young
professionals with various opportunities across the company’s global
network.

According to him, empowering young talent is key to building a
resilient and future-ready organisation.

“Through our partnership with AIESEC and participation in platforms
such as the Youth Speak Forum, we aim to support the development of the
skills and mindset needed to thrive in an increasingly dynamic and
complex global environment,” he said.

Through partnerships with various organisations, including SOS
Children’s Villages Indonesia, DHL Group seeks to support talent
development at various stages of the career journey so that every
individual can optimise their potential and grow in an ever-changing
world of work.
",
