        "content": "<p>Dewi Sukarno irked by magazine photos<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): A widow of Indonesia's first president Sukarno,<br>\nRatnasari Dewi, lodged a complaint on Tuesday with the Jakarta<br>\nPolice against a tourism monthly for allegedly using copyrighted<br>\npictures without permission.<\/p>\n<p>Arriving at police headquarters on Jl. Sudirman in South<br>\nJakarta at 9 a.m. with her two lawyers, Dewi accused What's On -<br>\nJakarta Program of violating copyright laws. The magazine is<br>\nowned by businessman Sudwikatmono, a relative of former president<br>\nSoeharto.<\/p>\n<p>She refused to speak in detail on the complaint, referring<br>\nquestions on legal matters to her lawyers Amir Abiyoso and Didi<br>\nSupriyanto.<\/p>\n<p>\"I never expected that you (journalists) would come to cover<br>\nme,\" said the 59-year-old woman.<\/p>\n<p>According to Didi, the November 1998 edition of the magazine<br>\ncarried a cover story on Dewi, accompanied by photographs of her<br>\nnude and scantily clad, which were copyrighted material from her<br>\nbook Madame D Syuga.<\/p>\n<p>\"There are several photos taken from the art book Syuga, which<br>\nwere used in that edition, but the editors of the magazine never<br>\nask for Ibu Dewi's permission,\" the lawyer said.<\/p>\n<p>The article in the magazine, which is mostly distributed in<br>\nhotels and travel companies, also contains libelous allegations,<br>\nthe Japanese-born Dewi said.<\/p>\n<p>She said she would pursue the libel issue later.<\/p>\n<p>In her complaint, Dewi named the monthly's founders and<br>\nexecutives, including Sudwikatmono, Hudiono Kadarisman and chief<br>\neditor Warsito Wahono.<\/p>\n<p>\"We've given a copy of the magazine to the police as evidence,<br>\nand we hope that they'll summon those responsible as soon as<br>\npossible so we can settle the matter right away,\" Didi said.<\/p>\n<p>Law No. 6\/1982 on copyrights stipulates a maximum penalty of a<br>\nseven-year jail sentence and Rp 100 million fine.<\/p>\n<p>None of the magazine executives could be reached for comment<br>\non Wednesday.
