Developer neglects to provide cemetery<\/p>\n
TANGERANG, West Java (JP): The developer of Bukit Cikasungka
\nhousing complex in Tangerang, PT Panca Wiratama Sakti, has not
\ncomplied with the regulation to provide residents with a
\ncemetery, Regent Saifullah AR said.<\/p>\n
Saifullah made the remark in connection with the residents'
\nprotest a week ago over the developer's negligence.<\/p>\n
\"According to the instructions of the Ministry of Public
\nHousing and Ministry of Home Affairs, it is the responsibility of
\na developer, not the local authority, to provide the housing
\ncomplex's residents with a public cemetery,\" he said.<\/p>\n
\"Besides, every company which develops a housing complex on
\nmore than 100 hectares of land is required to provide a public
\ncemetery. PT Panca Wiratama Sakti has developed Bukit Cikasungka,
\na 200-hectare housing complex in Tigaraksa, Tangerang,\" he added.<\/p>\n
Roy Husada, an official of the developer, blamed the local
\nauthority for not yet determining the site for a cemetery in the
\nregency's master plan.<\/p>\n
The question over the public cemetery surfaced a week ago when
\none of the complex's residents died. The nearby kampong's
\nresidents objected when relatives of the deceased tried to bury
\nthe body in the kampong's public cemetery, saying it was the
\ndeveloper's duty to provide a cemetery in the complex. (18\/26)<\/p>",
