Deutsche Bank officially opened its new building, on Jl.
\nDiponegoro, Central Jakarta, yesterday.<\/p>\n
State Minister of Research and Technology B.J. Habibie
\n(center), Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany Heinrich
\nSeeman (left) and Josef Ackerman (right), member of the Deutsche
\nBank Group board responsible for the Asia-Pacific region, opened
\nthe new building with a ribbon-cutting and plague-signing
\nceremony.<\/p>\n
The opening ceremony was attended by customers and friends of
\nthe bank and was followed by a concert by renowned German chamber
\nmusic ensemble Consortium Classicum.<\/p>\n
Josef Ackerman said the opening of the building reflected
\nDeutsche Bank's commitment to Indonesia and the bank's continued
\nconfidence in its future.<\/p>\n
\"We've been here for almost 30 years and like our building, we
\nare here to stay,\" he said.<\/p>\n
The 22-story Deutsche Bank Building is a landmark in the heart
\nof the business district and incorporates innovative elements,
\nsuch as below-floor air-conditioning and double-glazed windows.<\/p>\n
It features a 12-meter-high lobby, Canadian slate, granite and
\naluminum interiors, state-of-the art trading floors and a modern
\nvault built for the bank's securities and custody services.<\/p>\n
The new building was commissioned by Deutsche Bank in 1993 to
\nreplace its previous eight-story building, which was at the same
\nsite.<\/p>\n
The old building, completed in 1975, was in the same location
\nas Deutsche Bank's first office in Jakarta, which opened in 1968.
