Details on attorney murder asked for<\/p>\n
BOGOR (JP): The Bogor Lawyers Club (BLC) set on Tuesday a two-
\nweek deadline for Bogor Police to release details on an
\ninvestigation into the murder of one of its attorneys, Andi M.
\nYusuf, whose body was found in a rice field at Kampung Salami,
\nCiomas subdistrict, on Sunday.<\/p>\n
\"If the Bogor Police do not handle the case soon, we'll report
\nthe case to West Java Police and the National Police,\" Soleh
\nAmin, the club chairman, said.<\/p>\n
Soleh said that the murder was already beyond tolerance, as
\nearlier in March another BLC lawyer, Benget Panangiang, was
\nmurdered in Cimahpar, Bogor when the latter was working on a land
\ndispute case.<\/p>\n
\"Up to now, Benget's case has not yet been solved,\" he said.<\/p>\n
The BLC has established an investigation team to gather facts
\nand data surroundings the death of Andi.<\/p>\n
\"We'll look into Andi's case and match the leads. Perhaps,
\nthere are connections with relatives and business companions,
\ntoo.<\/p>\n
\"Later the results will be handed over to the police,\" Soleh
\nsaid, adding that the team had met with the Bogor Police chief,
\nasking for a speedy investigation.<\/p>\n
Bogor Police chief of detectives First Lt. Santun Marpaung
\nsaid police were working on the case.<\/p>\n
\"We don't know the motive of the killing for sure, but from
\nthe way he died, it was probably done out of vengeance,\" he said.<\/p>\n
The body of the 36-year-old attorney was found by locals at
\nabout 10 p.m. on Sunday, with severe stab wounds to the chest,
\nback, abdomen, hands and neck.<\/p>\n
None of his belongings were missing, as the cellular phone,
\nwristwatch, car and car keys were still intact.<\/p>\n
Andi's relative, Abdurrahman, told The Jakarta Post that a
\ntall man with dark skin and short hair met Andi earlier on Sunday
\nat about 7:30 p.m., near the latter's house.<\/p>\n
BLC secretary John T. Simanjuntak said Andi was working on

JAKARTA (JP): National Police burned on Thursday some 2,497
\ngrams of heroin confiscated from two people at Soekarno-Hatta
\nInternational Airport last September.<\/p>\n
\"It is stated clearly in the Criminal Code Procedure that law
\nenforcement agencies are required to destroy any dangerous or
\npoisonous goods seized as soon as we arrest the suspects,\" said
\nBrig. Gen. James Daniel Sitorus, chief of the narcotics division
\nat the National Police detective corps.<\/p>\n
He quoted article 45 of the Criminal Code Procedure and
\narticle 53 of Law No. 5\/1997 on psychotropic substances.<\/p>\n
The law, however, stresses that police or other law
\nenforcement officials have to destroy drugs seven days after they
\nconfiscate them.<\/p>\n
Customs and excise officials confiscated the heroin on
\nSeptember 21, and arrested 21-year-old Ayu Kusumaety and her 25-
\nyear-old brother, Astion Marlim, for allegedly attempting to
\nsmuggle 2.62 kilograms of pure heroin into the country.<\/p>\n
Both the girl and her brother were passengers of Thai Airways
\nflight 433 from Bangkok. The airplane landed at the airport at
\n12:30 p.m.<\/p>\n
The heroin has a total street value here of some Rp 2 billion
\n(US$250,000).<\/p>\n
With 2.497 grams destroyed of the total 2,620 grams
\nconfiscated, the remaining was used for three purposes, namely an
\nexamination by the National Police forensics laboratories
\n(Puslabfor Polri), for evidence against the suspects in court,
\nand for educational and training purposes of National Police
