        "content": "<p>A strategic move has occurred within Indonesia\u2019s monetary authority.\nMinister of State Secretary Pratikno confirmed that Bank Indonesia\nGovernor Perry Warjiyo has submitted a letter of resignation after\nleading the central bank for more than seven years. This step marks the\nend of Perry Warjiyo\u2019s two-term leadership, during which he safeguarded\nnational monetary stability.<\/p>\n<p>The government is currently processing the resignation letter\nadministratively before issuing a Presidential Decree regarding his\nhonourable discharge. \u201cThe resignation from Bank Indonesia to the\nPresident is, of course, in accordance with the applicable mechanisms\nand laws. The President, in accepting the resignation of Mr Perry\nWarjiyo, naturally extends his highest gratitude and appreciation for\nhis dedication over more than seven years of leading Bank Indonesia,\u201d\nsaid Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, speaking to the media on\nMonday (27\/7\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>Referring to the mechanism of the Bank Indonesia Law, the vacant\nposition of BI Governor will be filled by the Senior Deputy Governor as\nthe Acting Governor. Consequently, Destry Damayanti, who serves as the\nSenior Deputy Governor of BI, is confirmed to take over the leadership\nof the central bank to ensure the continuity of monetary policy and the\nstability of the national financial system.<\/p>\n<p>Responding to this mandate, Destry Damayanti affirmed BI\u2019s commitment\nto continue maintaining national economic stability and strengthening\ncoordination with stakeholders. \u201cStability of the payment system and\nhelping to maintain financial system stability in order to support\nsustainable economic growth that can create a conducive economic\nenvironment for real sector growth and job creation, in accordance with\nthe mandate of the Bank Indonesia Law,\u201d said Destry.<\/p>\n<p>She added that all of BI\u2019s future strategic measures will continue to\nbe carried out by prioritising the principles of accountability and\nsynergy with the government. \u201cIn carrying out these duties and\nauthorities, Bank Indonesia continues to prioritise good and\nprofessional institutional governance, and will continue to synergise\nand coordinate with the government in carrying out our respective duties\nand mandates,\u201d she stated.<\/p>",
