        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - Senior Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI)\nDestry Damayanti has been appointed acting Governor of BI following\nPerry Warjiyo\u2019s resignation from the post.<\/p>\n<p>The decision was made in accordance with a Board of Governors Meeting\n(RDG) on Sunday (26 July). The interim appointment complies with Law\nNo.\u00a023 of 1999 on Bank Indonesia, as most recently amended by Law No.\u00a04\nof 2026 on the Development and Strengthening of the Financial\nSector.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBank Indonesia will always ensure the continuity of its duties and\nauthority to achieve rupiah exchange rate stability, maintain payment\nsystem stability and help safeguard financial system stability in order\nto support sustainable economic growth, which can create a conducive\neconomic environment for real sector growth and job creation, in\naccordance with the mandate of the Bank Indonesia Law,\u201d Destry said at a\npress conference in Jakarta on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>In carrying out these duties and authorities, Destry affirmed that\nBank Indonesia would continue to prioritise good and professional\ninstitutional governance.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Bank Indonesia will continue to synergise and coordinate\nwith the government in carrying out their respective duties and\nmandates.<\/p>\n<p>Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi announced in Jakarta on\nMonday morning the resignation of Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo\nfrom his post.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs of yesterday (Sunday, 26 July), we officially received a letter\nof resignation from the BI Governor addressed to the President. In line\nwith the applicable mechanisms and laws, particularly the Bank Indonesia\nLaw, first of all the President accepted the resignation of Mr Perry\nWarjiyo, accompanied by expressions of gratitude and the highest\nappreciation for his dedication over seven years,\u201d Prasetyo said at the\nBank Indonesia office, accompanied by other members of the BI Board of\nGovernors.<\/p>",
