Deputy Trade Minister Dyah Roro Esti emphasised Indonesia's substantial export potential, citing a $41.05 billion trade surplus in 2025 and the launch of a dashboard to unlock regional opportunities. Recent trade missions, including an $88 million MoU with China, highlight global demand for Indonesian products and the government's efforts to expand international markets through trade agreements.

Deputy Trade Minister Dyah Roro Esti stated that Indonesia possesses
vast export potential. ‘Indonesia has immense regional export potential,
and this is why the Export Potential Dashboard was created as a solution
to effectively realise these opportunities,’ she said during the launch
of the Export Potential Dashboard in Jakarta on Monday. In 2025,
Indonesia’s trade balance recorded a surplus of $41.05 billion,
comprising a non-oil and gas surplus of $60.75 billion and an oil and
gas deficit of $19.7 billion. For January-March 2026, the trade surplus
reached $5.5 billion, with non-oil and gas exports at $63.6 billion and
imports at $52.97 billion. ‘We hope regional governments across
provinces can utilise the dashboard to identify local export
opportunities, further boosting our trade, particularly exports,’ Dyah
Roro added. She expressed satisfaction at the media coverage of
Indonesia’s export activities, which demonstrates Indonesian products’
competitiveness and ability to meet global standards. The Ministry of
Trade is expanding international markets amid geopolitical uncertainty
through trade agreements, including the ratification of several
Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreements (CEPAs) currently in
process with countries such as Canada, Peru, and African nations. ‘I
just led a trade mission to China last night, and thankfully the MoUs
totalled approximately $88 million. This remarkable achievement shows
the world Indonesia’s flagship products and the strong global interest
in them,’ she said. ‘Therefore, we hope regions will become more
enthusiastic and confident in realising untapped potential, with the
dashboard helping to uncover opportunities that have yet to be fully
exploited,’ the Deputy Trade Minister stated.
",
