        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Deputy Minister for Higher Education, Science,\nand Technology, Stella Christie, emphasised that the development of a\nnation and its civilisation must begin with strengthening human quality\nfrom an early age to optimise brain development, thinking abilities, and\nhuman resource capacity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf we want to build a strong nation and civilisation, what must be\nbuilt most is the people. And building people\u2014their brain and mind\ndevelopment, their human abilities\u2014is all heavily influenced and formed\nfrom early childhood education (PAUD),\u201d said Deputy Minister Stella in a\nstatement in Jakarta on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The cognitive psychology expert highlighted the importance of a\nchild\u2019s ability to learn and adapt to their environment. She noted that\nchildren possess extraordinary potential from the start, while the\nsurrounding environment plays a vital role in developing that\npotential.<\/p>\n<p>Consequently, she urged educators and parents to reconsider how daily\nenvironments can support a child\u2019s developmental abilities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo that end, the use of digital devices needs to be managed wisely,\nso as not to reduce opportunities for children to interact, learn, and\ndevelop their thinking skills through their surroundings,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy Minister Stella also encouraged educators to view the\ndevelopment of Artificial Intelligence (AI) not as a replacement for\nhuman thinking, but as part of a learning environment that must be\napproached with wisdom.<\/p>\n<p>According to her, the advancement of AI actually reinforces the\nimportance of human abilities that do not merely rely on the ability to\nmemorise information. One essential skill that needs to be developed\nfrom an early age is the ability to recognise patterns, structures, or\nanalogies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnalogy and the ability to see structure is what allows scientists\nto discover new knowledge. So imagine, if our children are able to see\nstructures, structural similarities, and pattern similarities from a\nyoung age, the likelihood of them becoming scientists will also be\ngreater,\u201d said Stella Christie.<\/p>",
