The House of Representatives (DPR) Commission V postponed a budget\nmeeting with Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi. The meeting,\noriginally scheduled for Thursday (11\/6\/2026), was delayed because the\nminister was unable to attend.<\/p>\n
Commission V Chairman Lasarus opened the meeting and immediately\ninformed attendees that the minister could not be present. \u201cWe received\ninformation this morning that the minister was unable to attend,\u201d\nLasarus said.<\/p>\n
Lasarus then asked Deputy Transport Minister Suntana to explain the\nminister\u2019s absence, stressing that time for budget discussions was\nlimited. \u201cPlease provide an explanation. Our time is very tight, and\nthis concerns the approval of your indicative budget ceiling. The budget\nis very important; if it is not approved, according to state finance\nrules, the ceiling is not yet valid without DPR approval,\u201d Lasarus\nstated.<\/p>\n
Deputy Minister Suntana explained that Minister Dudy Purwagandhi had\nbeen summoned by President Prabowo Subianto. \u201cAllow me to explain that\nthe minister is currently meeting the President regarding a matter we\nare not yet aware of,\u201d Suntana said. \u201cWe and other senior officials were\ninstructed to attend this meeting. If given the opportunity to represent\nhim, we will present the prepared materials. We apologise.\u201d<\/p>\n
Lasarus accepted the explanation, emphasising that everyone must\nattend when summoned by the President. \u201cWe have all heard that it is\nurgent because he was called by the President. When the President calls,\nno one can refuse, including PDIP who are outside the government, right?\nThat is a matter of ethics,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n
Following a discussion among the leadership and members of Commission\nV, Lasarus announced that the meeting would be postponed until\nWednesday, 17 June 2026. \u201cBecause there is no certainty, I propose that\nwe combine the agenda. On Wednesday, we will merge the sessions for\nBasarnas, BMKG, Housing and Settlement Areas, and Transportation. We are\nonly approving the indicative budget ceiling anyway,\u201d Lasarus said.
