        "content": "<p>Gresik, East Java - Deputy Minister of Transmigration (Wamentrans)\nViva Yoga Mauladi is pushing for the acceleration of downstream\nprocessing of flagship products from transmigration areas through the\nconstruction of processing industries to enhance competitiveness, added\nvalue, and the welfare of transmigrant communities. \u201cSo that flagship\nproducts in transmigration areas for food agriculture, horticulture, and\nfisheries can compete in the global market,\u201d the Deputy Minister said at\nthe release event for 16 tonnes of crab, a transmigrant product from\nseveral regions of Indonesia destined for the United States, in Gresik,\nEast Java, on Monday. Viva Yoga stated that the government wants\ntransmigration areas to have processing factories so that community\nproduce is not only sold as raw materials but has higher added value.\nAccording to him, the Ministry of Transmigration has data on the\npotential flagship products from various areas through the Patriot\nExpedition Programme, which has been running for the past two years. He\nexplained that the results of this research form the basis for the\ngovernment to realise pioneering downstream industrial projects in\ntransmigration areas. The Deputy Minister cited the Sumba Manis sugar\nfactory in East Sumba Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, as an example of a\ntransmigration area that already has a processing industry. The\ngovernment, he continued, wants similar industrial development to also\ngrow in other transmigration areas, including in West Sulawesi, South\nSulawesi, Central Sulawesi, and Southeast Sulawesi. According to him,\nthe downstream process will be tailored to the flagship products of each\ntransmigration area so that it can provide added value for the local\ncommunity. He also revealed that the Minister of Transmigration,\nMuhammad Iftitah Sulaiman Suryanagara, recently released a durian export\nfrom Parigi Moutong in the Sigi area, Palu, Central Sulawesi, destined\nfor China. This step, he said, is proof of the Ministry of\nTransmigration\u2019s attention in supporting the development of various\nsuperior commodities from transmigration areas to penetrate export\nmarkets. He affirmed that the Ministry of Transmigration is open to\nassisting the development of flagship food crop, horticultural, and\nfishery products to increase the income and welfare of transmigration\ncommunities. The Deputy Minister added that the government will conduct\nfurther serious communication to discuss the technical process of\ndownstream development with relevant parties.
