        "content": "<p>Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs (Wamenag) Romo Muhammad Syafii\nhas emphasised that there is no compromise for perpetrators of sexual\nviolence. According to him, the state provides no space whatsoever for\nany form of violent practice, especially when it occurs in religious\neducational institutions.<\/p>\n<p>This statement responds to the sexual violence case at Pondok\nPesantren Ndolo Kusumo in Pati Regency, Central Java, where the\npesantren caregiver has been designated as a suspect.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe emphasise: no tolerance. No protection for perpetrators. Anyone\ninvolved will face the law and severe administrative sanctions,\u201d said\nRomo Syafii in Jakarta on Monday, 4 May 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Romo Syafii reaffirmed the state\u2019s commitment to protecting santri\nfrom all forms of violence. The state does not tolerate violent\npractices in religious education environments. \u201cPesantren must be a safe\nand protective space. Any form of negligence or allowance of violence\ncannot be tolerated,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the Ministry of Religious Affairs is taking swift\nand measured steps through cross-sector coordination with law\nenforcement agencies, women\u2019s and children\u2019s protection institutions,\nand local governments. The handling is comprehensive, covering legal\nprocesses, victim recovery, and strengthening childcare systems in\npesantren environments.<\/p>\n<p>As handling measures, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has\ninstructed the pesantren management to, first, temporarily halt new\nsantri admissions until the case handling is declared complete and the\nchild protection system is assessed to meet standards.<\/p>\n<p>Second, deactivate parties suspected of involvement or negligence,\nand replace them with competent professional personnel in supervision\nand childcare.
