        "content": "<p>Yogyakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Minister (Wamen) of Communication and\nDigital Affairs (Komdigi) of the Republic of Indonesia, Nezar Patria,\nhas emphasised the importance of watermarks on products or content\ngenerated by artificial intelligence (AI) technology or machine\nintelligence.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy Minister Nezar in Yogyakarta on Friday stated that generative\nAI can produce photos that are highly realistic, along with voices of\npeople who never actually uttered those words in everyday life, yet are\npresented in the digital realm.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, watermarks on such artificial intelligence\ntechnology products are essential to assist the public, particularly\nparents and the elderly (lansia), who may not keep up with developments\nin the current digital technology era.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, the Deputy Minister said, parents and the elderly are\nparticularly vulnerable to becoming victims of hoaxes (fake news) and\ndisinformation from generative AI products circulating on various social\nmedia platforms.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe know that many of our parents may not follow the process of\ndigital development, and it is somewhat difficult for them to\ndistinguish whether the information products generated in the digital\nworld are true or not,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The Deputy Minister added that Government Regulation (PP) No.\u00a017 of\n2025 on the Governance of Electronic Systems in Child Protection (Tunas)\ndoes not target parents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Tunas regulation is specifically dedicated to regulating a\nhealthy digital landscape for children, so it does not target the\nelderly,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding developments with the Tunas regulation, the Deputy Minister\nsaid the government is continuing to communicate with several tech\ncompanies, particularly those operating platforms.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, Komdigi also appreciates their quite collaborative\nresponse in adopting the existing regulations in the Tunas regulation,\nincluding age restrictions and providing concrete technological\nsolutions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDialogues continue with several tech companies, so that\nimplementation can occur in the near future.
