Jakarta, VIVA – The Deputy Minister of Home Affairs and Vice
Chairperson of the Indonesian Christian Intelligence Association (PIKI),
Ribka Haluk, has asserted that PIKI must become an organisation capable
of exerting real influence on public policy and leaving a lasting legacy
for the nation. This was stated by Ribka during the Central Executive
Board (DPP) meeting of PIKI, led by PIKI General Chairman Maruarar
Sirait, at the PIKI DPP Office in Jakarta on Saturday (6/6/2026).

“We want PIKI to be able to enter this arena, to be able to influence
policy. There is a legacy that we must leave for the next five years and
beyond. It should not just be about activities and actions that end
after five years… That is why I agree that we must build this
ecosystem,” she emphasised.

On this occasion, Ribka expressed her appreciation to Maruarar Sirait
for the trust placed in her to be involved in the PIKI management. She
noted that this trust represents a calling to serve amidst her
responsibilities as Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, overseeing hundreds
of regions across Indonesia.

Ribka also praised the leadership of Maruarar Sirait, commonly known
as Ara, for providing an example to all members. She noted that despite
his ministerial position, Ara continues to dedicate time to leading and
building the organisation.

“This shows us how leadership is demonstrated to the rest of us. Mr
Ara is an admired figure among us, yet he remains humble, willing to
carry the cross and lead the organisation,” she remarked.

Furthermore, Ribka emphasised that PIKI must not merely be an
organisation that conducts ceremonial activities, but must be capable of
building an ecosystem that generates ideas, cadres, and policies that
impact society. “Being part of this organisation means we carry a great
responsibility. I want PIKI to be an organisation that influences
policy,” she said.

According to Ribka, one of the primary issues requiring PIKI’s
attention is poverty. Consequently, the intellectuals, academics,
professionals, business actors, and stakeholders within the organisation
must work together to produce concepts and policy recommendations
capable of addressing the nation’s various challenges.
",
