        "content": "<p>Jayapura (ANTARA) - Indonesia\u2019s Deputy Minister of Communication and\nDigital (Wamen Komdigi), Angga Raka Prabowo, stated that the city of\nJayapura in Papua now has two international connectivity routes that\nstrengthen the resilience of digital infrastructure in eastern\nIndonesia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe existence of these two international connectivity routes is a\nstrategic step in supporting the equitable distribution of digital\ntransformation and the development of the digital economy in Papua and\nthe Asia-Pacific region,\u201d he said in Jayapura on Friday (8\/5).<\/p>\n<p>According to Angga, Jayapura was previously connected via the\nSulawesi-Maluku-Papua connectivity route.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMeanwhile, the second route that has just been inaugurated connects\nVanimo in Papua New Guinea to Jayapura, then links to Manado and Los\nAngeles, United States, via the SEA-US cable,\u201d he said during the\ninauguration of the Pukpuk Submarine Cable System (Puk-Puk 1) at Telkom\nWitel Jayapura, Papua.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith the arrival of this submarine cable, Papua now has two\nindependent international connectivity legs, enabling it to open new\nopportunities and accelerate digital transformation across various\nsectors of community life,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>He further expressed appreciation to PT Telkom Indonesia through\nTelkom International (Telin) for successfully collaborating with PNG\nDataCo to bring the Pukpuk Submarine Cable System.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThus, the cable serves as part of strengthening cross-border\ntelecommunications infrastructure between Indonesia and Papua New\nGuinea,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTherefore, the presence of the Pukpuk Submarine Cable is an\nimportant part in creating more equitable connectivity that is reliable,\nresilient, and able to provide benefits to communities in eastern\nIndonesia, Papua New Guinea, and across the nation,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) through its operating\ncompany PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia International (Telin) inaugurated\nthe Pukpuk Submarine Cable System (Puk-Puk 1), a collaboration with PNG\nDataCo.<\/p>\n<p>The inauguration was conducted by Indonesia\u2019s Deputy Minister of\nCommunication and Digital, Angga Raka Prabowo, and the President\nDirector of Telkom Indonesia, accompanied by Telkom\u2019s Director of\nWholesale and International Service, Budi Satria Dharma Purba, Deputy\nConsul of Papua New Guinea in Jayapura, Leon Galemo, Acting Secretary of\nPapua\u2019s Regional Government, Christian Sohilait, and witnessed by\nTelin\u2019s CEO, Kharisma, and PNG DataCo\u2019s CEO, Paul Komboi, at Telkom\nWitel Jayapura, Jayapura City, Papua, on Friday (8\/5).<\/p>",
