        "content": "<p>Jakarta \u2014 Ratu Ayu Isyana Bagoes Oka, Deputy Minister for Population\nand Family Development (Wamendukbangga) and Deputy Head of the National\nPopulation and Family Planning Board (BKKBN), said that families that\ncreate an emotionally healthy environment can build children\u2019s\nself-confidence. \u2018Children raised in a family that is emotionally safe\nwill be more capable of developing self-confidence, social skills, and\nresilience in facing various life challenges,\u2019 she said in a formal\npress release in Jakarta on Friday. She noted that the warmth of the\nrelationship between parents and children and healthy communication\nwithin the family are important factors in maintaining children\u2019s\nemotional balance from an early age. She stressed that changes in the\nenvironment for children\u2019s growth in the digital era require parents to\nplay a more active role in accompanying them. \u2018The rapid flow of\ninformation and social interaction in virtual spaces can affect a\nchild\u2019s emotional condition if not balanced with appropriate attention\nand care,\u2019 she said. Strengthening parenting within the family is also\nin line with the President\u2019s Priority Programme for human resource\ndevelopment, including improvements in health, meeting children\u2019s\nnutrition needs, and high-quality education as the foundation for an\noutstanding generation towards Indonesia Emas 2045. Earlier on Thursday\n(5 March), the Ministry of Population and Family Development and BKKBN\nstressed the importance of family functioning and positive parenting in\nsetting the Joint Decree (SKB) on Child Mental Health signed by nine\nministries. Mendukbangga\/Head of BKKBN Wihaji stated the commitment to\nimplementing the SKB on Child Mental Health, which will be a pillar for\nfamilies. \u2018We are ready to support together with other\nministries\/agencies. There are 600,000 family-mentoring teams nationwide\nthat mentor 74 million families who can be empowered to address child\nmental health issues,\u2019 he said. This will be done through education on\nthe eight family functions, which are the strength of the Ministry. He\nhighlighted the rise in suicide cases among children aged 0-15,\nincreasing from 604 cases in 2022 to 1,498 cases in 2024, according to\ndata from the Indonesian National Police. Additionally, the 2024\nNational Survey on the Life Experiences of Children and Adolescents\nrecorded that 62.19 percent of children with mental health problems also\nexperienced violence in the last 12 months.<\/p>",
