        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and\nTechnology Stella Christie has stated that her ministry can follow up on\nthe Ministry of Health\u2019s request for research and innovation concerning\n11 vaccine reagents through a grant call or strategic research funding\nscheme. Speaking in Jakarta on Wednesday, Stella explained that changes\nto the research funding scheme now include allocations for strategic\nresearch, such as vaccine development and innovation, to accelerate\ndownstreaming in Indonesia and strengthen the National Immunisation\nProgramme. \u201cThis means we have what we call a proposal call, so we\ninvite proposals. Once determined by the Minister, we can decide to set\naside funds specifically for, say, those eleven. Then the proposals\nsubmitted will only be for research on those eleven,\u201d she said.\nAccording to her, this targeted approach will foster healthier\ncompetition for research funds and yield better results. \u201cThat is what\nwe will do, immediately follow up on the Minister\u2019s request,\u201d Stella\nsaid. She noted that under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto,\nthe research budget has doubled, demonstrating a commitment to advancing\nthe nation through science and technology. She elaborated on the\ntechnical aspects, explaining that out of 15 antigens, only four can\ncurrently be produced from the upstream stage. The remaining 11 are\nstill made through assembly. \u201cIt is still being pieced together and\nattached. It is not yet full manufacturing,\u201d she said. Therefore, she\nhas requested assistance from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science,\nand Technology, the Endowment Fund for Education Agency (LPDP), the\nNational Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), and the Food and Drug\nSupervisory Agency (BPOM) to accelerate this innovation.<\/p>",
