Deputy Minister for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs)
Helvi Moraza has emphasised the importance of synchronisation and
collaboration with various stakeholders in efforts to advance MSMEs in
Indonesia. The deputy minister made the remarks whilst opening the
Socialisation and Public Consultation on the MSME Ministry’s Strategic
Plan for 2025-2029 in Surabaya on Monday, July 2025.

“I agree with Pak Emil, who highlighted the importance of
synchronisation from the provincial level, particularly with the
agencies responsible for MSMEs at the district and city levels. That is
why today we have begun by gathering the heads of MSME-related agencies
from across Indonesia,” said Deputy Minister Helvi in a statement
received on Tuesday, 3 July 2025.

At the same event, Acting Governor of East Java Emil Dardak noted
that programme synchronisation at the provincial level was needed in
MSME management to ensure initiatives are well-targeted and their
benefits felt by MSME entrepreneurs.

According to Deputy Minister Helvi, regional leaders have a better
understanding of the potential of their areas and communities, and
therefore the MSME Ministry hopes to receive numerous recommendations
from the regions regarding which MSMEs should be supported for the
advancement of MSMEs in Indonesia.

“Of course, we want this planning approach to be bottom-up rather
than top-down. To that end, we are striving to receive input from all of
you so that the empowerment and protection of MSMEs remains effective,”
she said.

Regarding collaboration, Deputy Minister Helvi continued that the
MSME Ministry has established various partnerships in line with the
directives of President Prabowo. She noted that several collaborations
have already been forged by the MSME Ministry, including with the
Ministry of Manpower, the Ministry of Creative Economy, the Ministry of
Tourism, and the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child
Protection.

For market access, partnerships have been established with the
Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Investment/BKPM.

“We also have a collaboration with the Ministry of Trade — we are
working together to promote MSME Go Export. Then, regarding downstream
processing with BKPM, we will be paired up to create partnerships
between MSMEs and large-scale entrepreneurs,” she said.

Beyond collaboration with ministries and government agencies, Deputy
Minister Helvi added that the MSME Ministry has also undertaken
cooperation and empowerment activities for MSMEs across Indonesia with
various parties, including regional governments, state-owned
enterprises, the private sector, digital platforms, financing
institutions, universities, and relevant associations.
",
