Bima stressed that the Indonesia ASRI movement is not merely\nceremonial or incidental, but must become part of the daily life of\nlocal governments (Pemda). \u2018There is one thing entrusted by the\nPresident to all regional heads and the Minister of Home Affairs asks us\nto guard and monitor it\u2014that is the ASRI movement, safe, healthy, clean,\nand beautiful\u2014we will guard it,\u2019 he said in a written statement on\nTuesday, 19 May 2026.<\/p>\n
He said this during the Morning Assembly and Beach Clean-Up Movement\nat Senggigi Beach, West Lombok, NTB, today.<\/p>\n
He added that President Prabowo has given special attention to\ntourist areas, including Lombok. Prabowo emphasised the importance of\nkeeping tourist destinations clean to give visitors, including\ninternational tourists, a good impression.<\/p>\n
Therefore, local governments are not to neglect waste issues and must\nmanage them wisely.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, he hoped that regional heads could embed the ASRI\nmovement through programmes running from upstream to downstream. He said\nthat keeping the environment clean is not just about picking up rubbish,\nbut also requires direct involvement of regional heads to go out into\nthe field.<\/p>\n
He imparted a message to the IPDN cadets attending the assembly that\nin the future, when they become regional heads, they should stay close\nto the people and actively work in the field.<\/p>\n
\u2018The message is: you must continue to go out into the field. Do not\nget stuck behind a desk, do not get stuck in ceremonial events.
