        "content": "<p>Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (Wamendagri) Akhmad Wiyagus has\nasserted that the integration of population and regional data serves as\na strategic instrument in maintaining domestic security stability amidst\nincreasing global volatility and the proliferation of threats in the\ndigital space.<\/p>\n<p>According to Wiyagus, geopolitical dynamics, economic uncertainty,\nclimate change, and the acceleration of technological transformation\ndemand accurate and accountable data-based decision-making.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat is why we, as leaders, can no longer rely on conventional\nmethods in deciding something, but must truly be data-based. When\nspeaking of technocracy, decisions must be based on facts and data,\u201d\nWiyagus said in a written statement on Friday (19\/6\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>He conveyed this during the 2026 Police Staff and Leadership School\n(Sespim) Seminar at the Police Education and Training Institute\n(Lemdiklat Polri), themed \u2018Data-Based Leadership to Face Global\nVolatility in Order to Realise Domestic Stability\u2019, held at the Oetaryo\nBuilding in Lembang, West Bandung Regency, West Java.<\/p>\n<p>Wiyagus explained that the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri)\ncontinues to strengthen the integration and utilisation of population\nand regional data to support effective governance while maintaining\nnational stability.<\/p>\n<p>He added that integrated population data plays a crucial role in\nsupporting public services and law enforcement, ranging from identity\nverification and individual identification to case disclosures, which\ncan be carried out more quickly, accurately, and accountably through\ndigital technology support.<\/p>\n<p>Wiyagus also highlighted the growing threats in the digital space in\nline with changes in the global strategic environment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe most significant impact of this phenomenon is the massive\nmigration of crime to the digital ecosystem, such as online fraud, human\ntrafficking, and artificial intelligence-based disinformation,\u201d Wiyagus\nstated.<\/p>\n<p>According to Wiyagus, law enforcement officers need to prioritise\nadaptive leadership by utilising data and technology in real time for\ndecision-making, both for the prevention and handling of security\ndisturbances.<\/p>\n<p>In line with this, Kemendagri continues to provide population data\nutilised by various ministries and agencies, including the Indonesian\nNational Police (Polri).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis population data is integrated as a strategic infrastructure and\nthe backbone supporting police duties,\u201d Wiyagus stressed.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, he said, the strengthening of this data governance is\nsupported by various national regulations that form the basis for data\nintegration and the acceleration of digital government\ntransformation.<\/p>\n<p>On another note, Wiyagus invited the participants of the Police\nSespim Lemdiklat to strengthen inter-agency interoperability, comply\nwith regulations in the use of public data, and increase public trust\nthrough professional, accountable, and technology-based services.<\/p>",
